Line of Lights

For the last couple years (2019-2021) I have noticed a line of lights in the sky North of where I live. It can be seen for miles, almost 30 miles south from my house. My friend has told me that his dad investigated it once, and said it was an oil rig. The lights should not have been on for over two years now if that was the case. I feel that it may be an oil refinery, but still, I would like to investigate it myself.
